filter system removes impurities present in water 150 litre filter is included in this pack
an initial hot shot of water kills bacteria that may be present in the formula powder
helps the formula powder dissolve easily
dispenses the correct amount of water for a more accurate and consistent dilution
once the balance of water has been added to the hot shot, the feed will be ready to serve at body temperature
breast milk is served at body temperature, so why not your formula?

Why does the Perfect Prep™ tank temperature too hot light come on?
The Perfect Prep™ unit contains a probe that measures the temperature of the water in the tank and prevents the unit from dispensing if the water is above 25 C. This is a key safety feature to ensure that the final feed is not too hot. High water temperature should only ever be an issue in hotter climates, but it is not uncommon for mains water to rise in temperature in cooler climates during a sustained period of hot weather. We therefore recommend that the cold tap is flushed for 10 seconds before filling the tank. Other preventative actions include (i) keeping the unit out of direct sunlight and (ii) regularly topping up with cold tap water rather than letting a full unit stand and warm for long periods of time.
Is the perfect prep machine safe for my baby as it does not boil the water?
Provided your faucet water is of drinking quality the filter in the unit will remove any impurities. Certain bacteria such as e-coli and pseudomonas can be present in water, which is why guidelines recommend that you boil your water before making up a bottle. Our filter has however been tested and proven to remove these same bacteria.
Why is the amount of feed over or under the level of feed I was expecting?
With regards to the fill level variations on our perfect prep machine, you can expect up to 5% variation due to scale tolerances – tolerances that exist on both the accuracy of the bottle graduations and the water volumes of the perfect prep unit. These tolerance levels are within European standards – BS EN 14350. However, if you are still concerned that your measurements look to be out by more than 5% we can look to replace the unit for you upon receipt of your proof of purchase, which also needs to highlight that the unit was purchased within the last 12-months. Water Volume Advice As is normal with all manufactured products, the perfect prep machine dispensed water volume has an allowed tolerance of +/- 5% Additionally, there are potential tolerances in the measurement graduations of our Closer to Nature® bottles This means that any volume below 100 ml may vary by +/- 5 ml, and any volume above 100 ml may vary by +/- 5% It is therefore possible for the combination of both tolerances, machine and bottle, to make the volume dispensed by the machine appear inaccurate Our Closer to Nature® bottles meet or surpass the requirements for volume tolerances as specified by European Standard EN 14350
Why can’t I make a smaller feed than a 4 ounce bottle?
We would have loved to be able to prepare a smaller bottle volume with the unit, but the reason it cannot be made to work for a feed below 4oz is because the volume needs to be large enough to easily be split into two: 1) An initial hot shot big enough to dilute the formula into 2) A dilution big enough to dilute the hot down to body temperature ready to serve For any smaller feed we don’t have enough hot water in which to dilute the formula powder effectively, or enough to dilute and cool it down sufficiently from 70 C. Although we do not manufacture formula powder, we have looked at what the leading brands recommend and most assume that a 9lb+ baby will be on 4 oz feeds. It is difficult to recommend a "suitable from" age because every new born weight is different. Some babies are onto 4oz feeds within a couple of weeks whereas others may take longer.
